Legend of YMIR Launches Character NFT Trading and New Gameplay Systems

Legend of YMIR, a Norse mythology-themed MMORPG, is set to expand its Web3 features with a significant update launching on May 19. According to reporting from PlayToEarn News, the update will introduce a Character NFT system that gives players the ability to mint their in-game characters as NFTs, which can then be traded with other users on the WEMIX PLAY Marketplace. The new system enables players to turn developed characters into digital assets without disrupting regular gameplay, as minted characters remain playable until they are officially prepared for sale. When buying a Character NFT, users must perform an 'unsealing' process in-game, which binds the character to their account and renders it non-transferable going forward. This approach is designed to provide a degree of asset security and accountability within the ecosystem. To facilitate NFT transactions, players are required to connect a WEMIX PLAY Wallet to their game account. This connection becomes permanent after using any blockchain-linked feature, such as token minting or NFT unsealing. Until such features are used, accounts may switch wallet connections via a Reconnect Wallet option. The NFT trading process, including minting and unsealing, involves a multi-step verification for added security. This update builds on prior projects from Wemade, the developer behind Legend of YMIR, who previously implemented similar character NFT systems in earlier games. The studio positions the new tokenomics model as an evolution intended to encourage sustained player engagement. Beyond the NFT system, the update brings additional gameplay content. A new Transcendence System allows players to power up their in-game summons by combining duplicate assets, unlocking enhanced skills and exclusive status rewards. Additionally, a recurring competitive mode, the Clan Annihilation Battle, will run weekly, offering new objectives for organized groups of players. These features collectively mark another step in the integration of blockchain and player-driven economies within the Legend of YMIR ecosystem, with the reported aim of supporting both PC and mobile players across multiple markets.
