Onchain Heroes Launches Live Rewards in Expedition Mode Phase 2

Onchain Heroes, a blockchain-based idle RPG, has transitioned its Expedition Mode into Phase 2, where live rewards are now available for participating players. Previously, in Phase 1, the mode operated as a practice environment, enabling users to familiarize themselves with gameplay mechanics and risk structures without any financial implications. According to PlayToEarn News, the game’s shift marks the first time that real HERO token payouts are involved, raising both the stakes and the competitive atmosphere. The game is developed by Skarly, a former Wolf Game lead developer, and is built on the Abstract Ethereum Layer 2 network. In Onchain Heroes, every in-game decision, battle, and reward distribution occurs onchain, ensuring transparency and finality. Players must balance risk and reward as sending heroes on expeditions can lead to gains or the permanent loss of in-game assets. Game access is contingent upon owning specific NFTs, namely a Genesis Hero and, for the current season, a Weapon NFT. Randomness within Onchain Heroes is handled by verifiable random function technology through a partnership with Proof of Play. The HERO token functions as the core of the game’s economy, used for entering battles and upgrading assets, while players earn tokens through successful missions and leaderboard performance. In addition, ownership of Genesis Rings NFTs can provide holders with access to a share of the HERO token supply and potential future airdrops. The game’s economic model is designed to reward active participants, with 50% of HERO tokens spent during a season redistributed to players. The move to Phase 2 signals a further step in the game's ongoing development and introduces an added layer of consequence to every player action under the Expedition Mode.
