A report by Gamers Nexus has revealed that certain LG smart televisions continue to scan devices on home networks and capture microphone audio despite being switched off. This behavior was reportedly observed months after LG informed Texas regulators it had addressed issues related to user tracking. The investigation found that the televisions were actively probing all devices connected to the same network and appeared to monitor audio inputs with the screens powered down.

These findings point to ongoing privacy questions for users of connected TV devices, particularly in environments where sensitive conversations or game-related voice chat may take place.
