Following a recent breach on the Liquid Network bridge, hackers have returned approximately 85% of the stolen Bitcoin. The return came after Blockstream, the team behind the Liquid Network, implemented additional security measures and patched vulnerabilities. In total, around 3,400 BTC was returned to the protocol. Despite this partial recovery, nearly 600 BTC remains in the possession of the attackers, and efforts to recover the remaining assets are ongoing. The incident highlights ongoing concerns around the security of cross-chain bridge infrastructure in the blockchain ecosystem, and serves as a reminder of the risks involved in decentralized finance operations.
