GoMining has announced the release of a software development kit (SDK) and programmable access for its bitcoin payment protocol, GoBTC Pay. This initiative is intended to make it easier for merchants to accept bitcoin as payment for a range of everyday goods and services.
According to the company, the SDK allows developers to integrate GoBTC Pay into merchant systems, facilitating direct acceptance of bitcoin transactions. The move places GoMining in direct competition with other digital payment platforms, notably Square, which is backed by Jack Dorsey and has long supported bitcoin payment options.
While the GoBTC Pay protocol seeks to streamline the process for businesses looking to participate in the cryptocurrency economy, practical adoption and usability will depend on factors such as regulatory compliance, transaction speed, and user familiarity with bitcoin payments. How the ecosystem responds, and how GoMining stacks up against existing payment providers, remains to be seen.
