Australian Regulator Suspends Cryptolink, Causing 96 Crypto ATMs to Cease Operations

The Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) has taken regulatory action against Cryptolink, a cryptocurrency ATM operator, by suspending its registration for a period of three months. This decision, which took effect on Sunday, August 9, resulted in 96 cryptocurrency ATMs operating under Cryptolink across Australia being taken offline.

AUSTRAC cited ongoing concerns regarding Cryptolink's compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) obligations as the basis for the suspension. Australian regulations require crypto service providers to adhere strictly to AML/CTF standards in order to reduce the risks associated with illicit financial activities.
